Fixed fee deal as recession hits divorce
01 July 2009
Leeds law firm has launched a fixed fee divorce services as more couples split up in the recession.
The Local Government Association says economic pressures are driving increasing numbers of marriages on to the rocks, but many couples find the high cost of divorce prohibitive.
Law Firm Cohen Cramer has responded by launching a fixed fee divorce package. Emma Mason, Associate Solicitor at Cohen Cramer said "Divorce is never the easy option, however unfortunatley a percentage of all marriages will end this way. We developed our package as increasing numbers of people are stuck in limbo, unable to afford to divorce and divide their assets yet both agreed the marriage is over.
"The package clearly sets out the costs to conclude a non-contested divorce. This allows couples to divide assets and move on. We aim to make the process as stress free as possible, guiding clients through a difficult and emotional time."
