Is it possible to save my licence in a drink driving case?
Drink driving cases are difficult. However there are defences. There are defences which make you not guilty of the offence e.g. duress. There are certain cases where you are guilty of the offence but you can argue that you should not be disqualified e.g. “spiked drinks”, “special reasons”. Special reasons might be where there is a genuine emergency and you absolutely had to drive, or you only moved your car a very short distance in certain circumstances.
Are there any other methods of avoiding a six month disqualification if you are facing points which
Sometimes it can be argued that you should have a short disqualification for the offence itself. You might therefore receive a 14 day or a 28 day ban. You would not receive any points on your licence and you would not be liable therefore for the 6 months disqualification. Sometimes you can argue special reasons that you should not receive any points on your licence for the offence. There are quite strict criteria to qualify for special reasons but we have had a great deal of success in arguing them.
How much will it cost?

If I end up with 12 points or more on my licence, will I be disqualified from driving?
Not necessarily. Although the law provides for a 6 month disqualification when you reach 12 points this can be avoided if you can show certain mitigating circumstance. This mitigation is often referred to as “exceptional hardship”. If you can show that you will suffer more than an “ordinary hardship” you may not be disqualified or your disqualification may be for less than 6 months.
